Curlew Sighting

Correction to previous post!

The Bush Stone curlew spotted by Bruce Heggie near Lockwood this week  is apparently a lonely long term resident.

According to Bruce, who has lived in Lockwood for 30 years and heard the curlew call for many years, he has finally had a visit from this long-lived bird.

Bruce writes on his Facebook Page that ‘there are only a few pockets of this bird left around the Bendigo area. Such a thrill to see!’

We wonder along with Bruce whether the curlew thinks the lapwing/plover is a potential mate!!
